The war-weary American people who voted into office the 47th president of the United States on the supposition that he was a non-interventionist (I boycott the System’s pejorative “isolationist” nomenclature) — didn’t know they were getting an orange-haired stand-in for George W. Bush. We are witnessing the complete reversal of the voters’ wishes as Donald Trump plunges America into a multi-billion dollar quagmire in Iran, which a debtor nation like the U.S. can ill afford.
•The war with Iran began less than 72 hours before the start of the festival of revenge known as Purim, which commenced March 2.
•In 2003 President Bush invaded Iraq on March 19, a day after Purim concluded.
Coincidence?
•The Russian Revolution began two days after Purim (on the Julian calendar), in February, 1917. The Petrograd Soviet of Workers’ and Soldiers’ Deputies convened for the first time six days after Purim. Cf. •The US holocaust in Tokyo which burned alive 100,000 Japanese civilians began on the night of March 9, 1945, nine days after Purim had concluded. It was authorized by Commander in Chief Franklin D. Roosevelt and implemented by Major General Curtis LeMay, who initiated the ghoulish strategy of low-altitude night-time incendiary bombing, which intentionally caused the massive firestorm in Tokyo.
•In 1994 Purim fell on Feb. 25, the day Baruch Goldstein, a native New Yorker turned Israeli “settler,” slaughtered forty Palestinian Muslims while they were at prayer in Hebron (the media have since erroneously reduced the casualty figure to twenty-nine).
