When I was a kid, listening to rock music crowded out reading and studying, causing depression and anxiety, and major setbacks in my preparation for earning a marketable degree or learning a marketable skill, and in coping with life in general.

That you managed to recover from your rock music derangement syndrome is wonderful and inspiring. There are so many around us who haven't managed to do what you did. I give music lessons and I see little kids who are exposed non-stop to rap, etc., and so many now have no access to a basic piano or other acoustic instruments. Seems a vital part of the mental/spiritual life extinguished --.
